At Fatfield Academy, we are proud to work in partnership with the Healthy Heads Team, Sunderland's NHS Mental Health Support Team, to promote positive mental health and emotional wellbeing across our school. Our Primary Mental Health Worker is Lucy.

Healthy Heads supports schools to develop a whole-school approach to mental health, helping children develop resilience, emotional awareness and positive coping strategies. The team works with pupils, families and staff to ensure children receive the right support at the right time.

    The Healthy Heads Team provides:

    • Advice and guidance for school staff.
    • Workshops and classroom sessions to promote emotional wellbeing.
    • Small group and individual support for children experiencing mild to moderate anxiety or low mood.
    • Support for parents and carers.
    • Resources to help children develop resilience and positive mental health.
    • Staff training to strengthen our whole-school approach to wellbeing.

At Fatfield Academy, we believe that every child should feel happy, safe and supported. Through our partnership with Healthy Heads, alongside our PSHE curriculum, nurturing ethos and pastoral support, we help children develop the confidence and emotional skills they need to thrive both in school and beyond.

If you would like further information about the support available through Healthy Heads, please speak to a member of our pastoral team.
