Fatfield Academy’s Mental Health Champion is: Mrs Kirby
Fun Friends Programme was designed to support children between the ages of 4 and 7 with their emotional and social development.
Fun Friends is ran as an intervention for small groups within school to support children who may need additional support emotionally/socially. The sessions are full of fun play-based activities that equip children with resilience skills to help them in everyday life.
FRIENDS for Life is a social skills and resilience building program that has been recognised by the World Health Organisation as an effective means to prevent anxiety for children aged 8-11. It is proven to reduce anxiety and provide participants with the tools to rise to life’s challenges, and make the most of setbacks and adversity. FRIENDS for Life also improves participants’ social and emotional skills, ability to focus, confidence, and the capacity to relax and regulate emotions.
Kidsafe is another intervention programme ran throughout school.
Children always say that they love the Kidsafe programmes, especially helping KS, our puppet, decide what to do in certain situations. Through helping KS with strategies to keep him safe, children are learning and reinforcing vital skills to help keep themselves safe from all forms of abuse
